Colin Graham leads Spencer Stuart’s global Board and CEO Practice. In this role, he oversees a global team of expert consultants focused on delivering the firm’s full range of capabilities to CEOs and boards navigating their most consequential leadership priorities. His work focuses on CEO and board succession, CEO selection and transition, board effectiveness, leadership assessment and development, and aligning leadership capabilities with business strategy.
For 25 years, Colin has advised leading public and private equity-backed companies, from the Fortune 100 to the middle market, at critical moments of leadership transition and transformation. He has led CEO and board succession mandates across a range of industries, ownership structures and geographies and has worked extensively with sitting CEOs, directors and senior executives on leadership assessment and development.
Prior to assuming his current role, Colin led Spencer Stuart’s global Industrial Practice through a period of record growth. His industry expertise is centered around the industrial and industrial technology sectors and their adjacencies, and he has long been a core member of the firm’s CEO, Board and Private Equity practices. Colin is a recipient of Spencer Stuart’s prestigious Lou Rieger Quality Award for distinctive client service.
Deep leadership advisory experience
- Before joining Spencer Stuart, Colin was a managing director at a board advisory and executive search firm, where he led its industrial technology practice and helped lead its CEO and private equity practices.
- Colin has authored and contributed to Spencer Stuart research and thought leadership on CEO succession, leadership and governance, and has written extensively for Forbes on executive leadership and talent.
Colin earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from Plymouth State University, where he has endowed a leadership scholarship for the College of Business Administration and mentors scholarship recipients. He also serves on the board of directors of The Opportunity Network, a national nonprofit headquartered in New York City.
