Associates

Associates are essential members of search teams, combining research, assessment and relationship-building skills to deliver extraordinary service and value to Spencer Stuart clients.

Associates work with consultants to execute search engagements with a focus on developing sector knowledge and candidate pipelines. While responsibilities vary by assignment, core associate activities include assisting with search strategy, constructing target lists of companies, identifying and attracting prospects, writing position specifications, conducting candidate interviews, completing progress reports, and documenting candidate qualifications and references. Additional business development, client management and candidate validation activities may also occur in support of specific clients or general firm initiatives.

Outstanding associates have many career path opportunities available at Spencer Stuart, including promotion to senior associate and, over time, consultant; advancement within the Leadership Advisory Services Practice; and business, operations or regional leadership roles.

Analysts

Analysts, typically recent college graduates, play a critical role in supporting both consultants and clients. Primary responsibilities include producing industry and/or functional analysis, developing deep perspective on competitive landscapes, understanding market influences, identifying trends across sub-sectors, target company list development and tracking share performance. In addition, analysts identify potential prospects for search engagements, assess candidate fit against the specifications of a position, and provide analysis and progress updates to be incorporated into client-ready documents.

Over time, analysts will develop deep industry expertise and sophisticated business acumen by researching successful organizations and impactful leaders, and will be considered for promotion to associate with proven readiness and business need.

Analyst Interns

Analyst interns perform research and offer recommendations in support of client commitments through formal inclusion on teams with our consultants, associates and analysts. In addition, they complete several complex projects that directly benefit a practice or uncover a business-development opportunity. Analyst interns experience a unique, fast-paced and comprehensive paid internship and receive continuous guidance and support through an assigned mentor and trainings that help develop new skill sets, industry knowledge and familiarity with leadership consulting.

Successful analyst interns are naturally curious, team-oriented and driven. At the conclusion of the internship, outstanding performers may be considered for a full-time analyst position following graduation.

For applicants in the U.S., Spencer Stuart offers internships for 8-10 weeks during the summer across several offices. Analyst Interns experience a unique, fast-paced and comprehensive paid internship where they gain broad exposure to a variety of industries and functions and learn about the careers of leading executives around the world. Spencer Stuart offers a collaborative, intellectually engaging, entrepreneurial environment and the opportunity to work with a diverse group of energetic colleagues who are career search professionals, former business leaders and management consultants.

Executive Assistant

The Executive Assistant (EA) is an integral member of the search execution team, acting as project manager to ensure the success of each assignment. The EA serves as the key contact with clients and candidates, schedules interviews, arranges consultant and candidate travel, ensures all due diligence has been conducted on candidates, reviews results, and flags issues. The EA performs administrative functions, as necessary, to assist the recruiting team, and oversees and ensures the accuracy of all client deliverables and candidate records.

Ideal experience includes five or more years of executive administrative assistant experience in a professional services environment. The ability to effectively solve problems and overcome challenges while consistently providing high-quality work is of utmost importance. The EA is proficient in all Microsoft applications and experienced at proofreading and editing documentation.

Our corporate team fills a crucial role, providing services and support to our internal teams. Opportunities in the corporate office include, but are not limited to, the following areas:
