This edition also casts a spotlight on the 25 family-owned companies in the Bel 20 and Bel Mid (42% of the total sample) and explores some of the differences between this group and non-family companies in the indices.

  • 49.1% of directors among Bel 20 and Bel Mid companies are independent
  • There has been a 130% increase in female directors on Bel 20 and Bel Mid boards over the past five years
  • 44.6% of directors on Bel 20 boards are non-nationals
  • 67.8% of companies have a combined nomination and remuneration committee
  • The average total remuneration of non-executive directors is € 54, 421.
