Giovanna is the co-leader of the Board and CEO Practice and the leader of Financial Services Practice across Europe, Middle East and Africa. She advises clients across geographies, offering a broad range of services spanning leadership advisory and corporate governance. Giovanna has helped many established European financial services players in insurance and banking on board and executive recruitment, succession, and culture-related topics. In addition to her client work, she is a Director of the Spencer Stuart’s Global Board.
Giovanna participates regularly in conferences both at local and international level to foster diversity and inclusion. She has been a Member of the G-20 Women’s Forum Advisory Board.
Expertise in Financial Services and Board and CEOs Advisory
- Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, she has worked for leading international institutions; in particular, for over fifteen years she has held various leadership roles in GE Capital where she has started her career in the M&A team in London with a focus on acquisitions mainly in Southern Europe. For several years she has led the business development activity for GE Capital Group and has dealt with all financial divisions. She has managed critical integration and restructuring processes in different areas of the financial services with strong emphasis on BD, strategy, sales and marketing functions.
- At Spencer Stuart her work is characterized by a holistic approach that targets both CEOs and senior executives as well as projects focused on governance of listed companies in regulated sectors.
- Diversity & Inclusion are core aspects of her work, she has selected and mentored numerous female directors and executives from diverse professional and geographical backgrounds. She engages regularly in programs and initiatives focused on talent development and fostering career opportunities.
She holds a degree in Business Administration from Bocconi University in Milan and a master’s degree in Business Administration from ESADE (Spain). Giovanna has also studied at Erasmus University in Rotterdam.
Italian is her mother tongue and she speaks fluent English and conversational Spanish.
