Lynn Wu is a consultant in Spencer Stuart’s Los Angeles office and a member of the firm’s Financial Officer, Consumer, and Healthcare practices. With over 12 years of executive search experience and nearly two decades of overall recruiting and talent acquisition experience, Lynn brings a deep bench of experience across multiple industries, sectors, and functions for both publicly traded and private equity backed companies. Known for her progressive, creative, collaborative and data-driven approach to search execution, Lynn has successfully partnered at the Board and C-Suite level to help organizations find top talent to drive high impact.
Financial Officer, Consumer, and Healthcare Search Expertise
- Lynn has completed more than 250 executive-level assignments across multiple industries and functions. Her work spans both publicly traded Fortune 500 companies as well as early stage Private Equity backed and privately held companies.
- Before joining Spencer Stuart, she was a Senior Partner at a top boutique retained executive search firm, where she led and helped build the firm’s Consumer practice and co-led multiple other practice areas, including Healthcare. A significant part of her work was placing CFOs and other senior financial officers.
- Prior to her career in executive search, Lynn served as an investment advisor for the Private Wealth Management group of Morgan Stanley, one of the largest investment banks and global financial services firms in the world. In her role, she provided highly customized financial advice to ultra high net worth clients.
- Earlier in her career, Lynn excelled as a top performer in a variety of positions in recruiting, including temporary staffing at Robert Half International as well as contingency placement of software engineering and IT professionals for early stage venture backed companies during her tenure at Heuristics Search and a recruiting start-up she co-founded with several colleagues.
Lynn holds an M.B.A. from the UCLA Anderson School of Business, where she was a Dean’s Scholar (top 10% of the class), and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.
