A consultant in Spencer Stuart’s Frankfurt office, Yorck Nelius has a proven track record in developing and leading strong teams and large retail and manufacturer organizations. Yorck works with leading organizations as a member of the global Consumer Practice. His experience spans retail, fashion, sports, consumer goods, beauty and lifestyle companies as well as family-owned, publicly held and financial investor-hold companies. He has a deep understanding of culture, changing business models, shifting consumer behavior and digital transformation.

A track record of developing strong teams for multi-site and omnichannel organizations

  • Before joining Spencer Stuart, Yorck was chief sales officer for Karstadt Sports and a member of its executive management board. In that role, Yorck led in-store and online sales, omnichannel and visual merchandising.
  • Previously, he was a sales director for L´Oréal (Germany), responsible for L´Oréal’s coiffeur unit in Germany.
  • Earlier, Yorck held several executive management roles with Douglas, Europe’s leading perfumery, in the headquarters, as well as in regional management roles.

Yorck earned his diploma in economics at the universities Witten/Herdecke (Germany) and St. Gallen (Switzerland). He also holds a Ph.D. in marketing and commerce from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar, Germany, where Yorck currently serves as a member of the advisory board of the center for market-oriented management. Next to his native German, he is fluent in English.
