With extensive experience in both investment banking and executive search, Sandy McLane operates at the intersection of strategic advisory and capital raising. He co-leads Spencer Stuart's Global Banking & Markets Practice, where he leads senior-level search assignments for bulge-bracket, middle-market and boutique investment banking firms. He also works with corporate clients in the recruitment of senior-level M&A, corporate development and strategy professionals. Additionally, Sandy works with private equity firms and hedge funds, recruiting investment professionals and institutional marketers.
Providing depth and breadth of financial services experience
- Prior to commencing his career in the executive search field, Sandy worked for 15 years as an investment banker, most recently at JP Morgan, where he had client coverage responsibilities for media and telecommunications companies.
- Previously, Sandy was a founding member of the high-yield corporate finance group at First Union Capital Markets, and he began his career at Citicorp Securities, where he held a variety of positions in New York and Chicago.
- During his tenure in the financial services industry, Sandy completed numerous public and private equity and debt financings as well as a range of M&A assignments in the media and telecom, retail and apparel, and general industrial sectors. He also worked extensively with private equity firms.
Sandy holds a B.A. from Bowdoin College and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
