Ricardo Jorge is Lisbon-based consultant focused on advising CEOs and boards on leadership topics as well as conducting senior-level executive search across multiple sectors in Portugal. He has 25 years of experience in operating roles — retail banking, luxury goods and enterprise software — and operates across EMEA as a key member of the Financial Services Practice.
With deep expertise in retail banking, Ricardo was previously the Santander Group global head for small business banking platforms and operating model transformation. He worked with banks across Europe, Latin America and the U.S. He served as an executive board member for three years at Santander Portugal and contributed to a high-performing team that transformed the culture of the bank. Ricardo is professionally known for his ability to bring agency and agility to an organization, and for building leadership that creates industry-leading results.
Broad operating experience complemented with management consulting expertise
- Ricardo was a C-level executive at a family office-backed, mid-sized luxury goods company based in Geneva, for four years. He joined as COO/CFO and later took the responsibility of leading global sales with boutiques, department stores and private sales in Europe, the U.S., the Middle East and Asia.
- Earlier in his career, Ricardo served as a project leader at Boston Consulting Group, leading engagements in energy, retail, digital and operating model transformation in multiple countries in Europe.
- Ricardo is a two-time entrepreneur, having launched two tech-driven start-ups — one in energy services and one in shared urban mobility.
Ricardo earned his degree in industrial engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon and an M.B.A. from INSEAD. A former basketball player, he represented Portugal on the full national team and played for Benfica.
