Peter Goethuys is a member of Spencer Stuart’s global Healthcare Practice, based in the firm’s Zurich office. Passionate about talent identification and leadership development, and with a deep knowledge of global talent markets, he brings nearly three decades of talent management and executive development experience across the global pharmaceutical and consumer goods industries. Peter is a trusted adviser to CEOs and CHROs on talent identification, succession planning, key leadership appointments, assessment and development.
Global leadership and talent development
- Before joining Spencer Stuart, Peter worked at Sanofi in global human resources leadership positions. In his last role as chief talent officer, Peter worked closely with the CEO, CHRO and the executive committee on the talent pipeline, and led a significant number of senior executive searches across all businesses and global functions. He previously held several operational global HR roles in the pharmaceutical, consumer health, generics and animal health businesses. He managed all aspects of HR through a number of business and culture transformation, business integration and restructuring initiatives.
- Earlier, Peter was the head of talent, leadership and organizational development at Novartis, based at the global headquarters in Basel, Switzerland. Earlier in his career, Peter spent 17 years at Unilever in various country and global roles in human resources.
Peter earned his master‘s degree in business management from the University of Louvain in Belgium, and is a graduate of the mastering change, coaching and consulting skills program at INSEAD. He speaks fluent Dutch, English and French, and intermediate German.
