Dr. Nicolas von Rosty currently leads the firm’s Industrial practice in Germany. He is also a member of Spencer Stuart’s global Board and CEO practice. Apart from this he is active in the Human Resources as well as Legal, Compliance & Regulatory practices. Previously, Nicolas led the firm’s operations in Germany. As a seasoned executive search consultant and former senior HR leader in a global company, Nicolas has extensive experience in senior-level search assignments for industrial clients and executive assessment.
Executive search and industry experience
- Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Nicolas was corporate vice president of executive development at Siemens AG in Munich. He reported directly to the CEO and had global governance for recruiting key corporate functions, succession planning, talent development and the compensation system of senior management. He also implemented a new leadership framework and initiated company-wide executive training, including interview techniques.
- Previously, Nicolas spent eight years as an executive search consultant and partner with another leading international search firm. He conducted searches for a variety of leadership roles for industrial clients and served as an active member of the legal practice. In addition, he was the country manager of Czech Republic and Slovakia and a member of the management appraisal and talent management practice.
- Nicolas started his professional career with ThyssenKrupp Group, first as a member of in-house counsel and later as managing director of one of the group’s online startups. He also spent three years in Mexico as managing director of one of the company’s Mexican subsidiaries.
Nicolas studied law at the Universities of Heidelberg and Hamburg and has a doctorate in law. During his legal training, he was a research assistant at the Max-Planck-Institute for International Law and spent several months at New York University while working on his doctoral thesis. Nicolas is fluent in German, English and Spanish.
