He advises global consumer organizations on leadership development and talent strategy in a sector experiencing rapid change with evolving demands on C-suite leaders. Massimo provides expert consulting in CEO succession and executive search for chief marketing officers, chief sales officers and chief strategy officers. He has lived and worked in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Denmark and Switzerland, giving him insight into the local, regional and global dynamics facing consumer companies today.
A track record of transformative leadership in the consumer industry
- Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Massimo was the chief strategy officer of Carlsberg Group and a member of its leadership team. Most recently, he orchestrated and implemented the group’s “Sail ’22” value creation strategy. During his tenure, he was also responsible for the group’s international premium brands division, where he successfully accelerated the global expansion of the Tuborg, Somersby, Kronenbourg 1664 and Grimbergen brands.
- Throughout his career, Massimo has held senior global, regional and national roles in commercial operations, marketing and corporate strategy with a variety of leading consumer goods organizations, including Johnson & Johnson, Bahlsen and Bally Shoes.
- Massimo has significant experience leading transformation and assessing the talent and capabilities needed to execute new strategies. He has a proven track record of delivering strong top- and bottom-line results as well as driving successful turnarounds of troubled businesses.
Massimo earned a Global Executive M.B.A. from INSEAD and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Northwestern Switzerland. He is fluent in English, German, French and Italian, and has working knowledge of Spanish, Dutch and Danish.
