Akiko Marusawa, a consultant in Spencer Stuart’s Tokyo office and a member of its Leadership Advisory Services team, has devoted her career to assessing and developing leaders. A global HR professional with more than 20 years of HR leadership experience at multinational companies, Akiko consistently delivers stakeholder value by helping leaders improve their performance. Her experience is focused primarily in the automotive, consumer goods and financial services industries.
Global HR and leadership expert
Before joining Spencer Stuart, Akiko worked at CBRE Japan as human resources director, working closely with the CEO and the leadership team.
Prior to that, she was head of human resources for Asia Pacific at Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics.
Earlier, Akiko held various HR positions at well-regarded multinational companies such as Mars and GE.
She began her HR career at Toyota Motor Corporation, where she had assignments in Japan and Europe.
Akiko earned a BA in social psychology from the University of Tokyo. She is fluent in English and Japanese.
