Mercedes Mantecon is a consultant in Spencer Stuart’s Healthcare and Human Resources practices in Mexico City. She brings 20 years of human resources and consulting experience from several global corporations. Mercedes has extensive experience working with pharmaceutical companies throughout Latin America.

Deep human resources expertise

  • Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Mercedes was a consultant at TalentWise Mexico, where she gained experience in HR and strategy, spanning several industries, including healthcare, consumer, insurance, education and professional services. She focused on the areas of team development, talent, performance and change management, HR strategy, organizational strategy, objective alignment, talent acquisition and talent assessment.
  • During her eight years at Pfizer, Mercedes worked in HR and was responsible for talent attraction, organizational development, compensation, talent development and retention for Mexico and Latin America. She also was a member of the global HR redesign steering team and led the initial change management process and implementation in the region. She also led the company’s talent integration efforts during several M&A processes.
  • Prior to working at Pfizer, Mercedes worked in talent acquisition for Holcim, a Swiss cement and concrete industry leader, in addition to Janssen-Cilag, the pharmaceutical branch of Johnson & Johnson in Mexico.

Mercedes has a master’s degree in strategic human capital management and a B.S. in industrial relations from Universidad Anahuac, both with honors. She is a native Spanish speaker and fluent in English.
