Kathleen Tamayo is a core member of the Industrial Practice and is based in Spencer Stuart’s Chicago office. Kathleen works deeply with clients across the automotive and commercial vehicle markets, as well as more broadly with highly engineered product manufacturers and suppliers. Kathleen’s work concentrates on the recruitment and assessment of top leadership at the corporate and divisional levels.

Executive search, human capital and economic consulting experience

  • Kathleen has worked with clients on a wide variety of executive-level search and board assignments in nearly a decade at Spencer Stuart. Her extensive experience includes searches for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), tier 1 suppliers and dealer groups, and mobility service organizations and private equity companies with transportation-related investments.
  • Recent work includes placing the CEO of a $17 billion publicly traded enterprise, and the CEO for a Silicon Valley-based autonomous driving start-up.
  • Kathleen began her career in the human capital practices at Arthur Andersen and Deloitte & Touche, providing consulting and analysis related to executive succession, taxation and compensation.
  • Prior to entering the world of search, Kathleen was an economic consultant with Huron Consulting Group and Chicago Partners. She developed extensive experience working with Fortune 100 clients in the areas of strategic planning, data modeling and litigation assessment.

Kathleen earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Saint Mary’s College with honors. She received her M.B.A. from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, where she focused on accounting, econometrics and managerial/organizational behavior.
