Frank Birkel is a member of Spencer Stuart’s global Consumer Products, Private Equity and Technology, Media & Telecommunications practices. He also serves on Spencer Stuart’s global board of directors. He previously led the firm’s operations in the German and Austrian offices in addition to co-leading its regional operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Management and marketing experience with global brands
- Frank works with clients across industry sectors to recruit senior general management and functional executives.
- Before joining Spencer Stuart, Frank was with the William Wrigley Jr. Company, where he began as managing director for Germany and rose to the position of vice president for Western Europe. In addition, he headed the global oral care business unit, where he was responsible for innovation, initiative rollout and brand development. He was an elected officer of the William Wrigley Jr. Company and a member of the European board.
- Frank started his career as a client manager for Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising in Frankfurt. After that, he spent more than nine years with Procter & Gamble Co., mainly in marketing and sales roles, and finally as marketing director of fabric and home care for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He also was a member of the German leadership team.
Frank is a graduate of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich, where he earned his master’s degree in business administration and a doctorate in human resources management. He also attended business school in the United States. Frank is fluent in German and English.
