Based in Spencer Stuart’s Johannesburg office, Elise de Beer specializes in leadership assessment and development. As a member of the Executive Assessment Services team, she works with boards and senior management to evaluate the readiness and capabilities of their executive teams and develop action plans to prepare executives for critical roles. Elise brings extensive experience advising companies around the world on leadership, strategy and innovation, financial and accounting outsourcing, talent development solutions and talent acquisition.

Deep executive advisory experience with financial expertise

  • Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Elise spent 21 years with Deloitte in South Africa, where most recently she led the strategic talent and transformation/change programme, as well as a significant internal service innovation and capability development initiative.
  • As part of Deloitte’s management consulting division, she advised public sector and corporate clients in the financial services, energy, aviation and mining industries on various strategy and operations projects. In earlier roles, she was responsible for engagement solutions, skills development and business process solutions, and began her career as a chartered accountant (South Africa) and auditor.
  • Elise is a registered executive coach (COMENSA) and her Master thesis focused on “Engagement, Burnout and Individual Executive Performance.”

Elise has a Bachelor of Commerce degree with honors from the University of Pretoria and an M.Phil in management coaching from University of Stellenbosch Business School. She speaks English and Afrikaans.
