A Conversation with Bill McDermott

CEO of SAP
February 2015

SAP CEO Bill McDermott recently sat down with Spencer Stuart's Jason Hancock to discuss the challenges of becoming a global, adaptive company in an evolving economy, SAP's unique culture and what it means to lead and inspire today's workforce. McDermott also talks about the key moments in his rise from buying and working the counter at a delicatessen to running a global corporation.

McDermott, who built SAP into one of the world's largest business software companies, came aboard in 2002 as leader of operations in the Americas before becoming co-CEO in 2010 and later assuming full control of the corporation in May 2014. He has played an integral role in its rise as a giant in enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, industrial, supply chain and logistics software.
