Ulrike Simon is a consultant in Spencer Stuart’s Leadership Advisory Services Practice, advising clients on a range of leadership and organisational culture issues to help them increase their team and individual effectiveness. As a member of the firm’s Industrial, Healthcare and Human Resources practices, she evaluates individuals, teams and organisations to ensure that clients have the right people in the right roles to achieve their strategic goals. She is also a member of the Private Equity Practice, where she focuses on identifying and developing senior-level talent for portfolio companies. She brings to her client engagements more than 15 years of experience in consulting, talent management and organisational development for organisations in Asia, Europe, Australia and North America.
Consulting and leadership experience
- As a consultant for a premium leadership solutions consultancy, Ulrike led assessments, leadership trainings and developed competency frameworks for global clients and served as general manager of Australia and New Zealand while based in Sydney. Previously, she worked as a senior consultant in the firm’s German branch. During her tenure, she focused on assessment methodology and delivery at senior executive levels while managing German-based clients.
- Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Ulrike has held various roles in the insurance/reinsurance industry and most recently served as head of talent management for a multinational insurance company, where she was responsible for executing the global talent agenda, informing talent strategy and designing assessments for senior leadership. She also served as human resources director with a global reinsurance organisation, with an emphasis on assessments, global succession planning and coaching.
- Earlier, Ulrike worked as a leadership advisory consultant, serving Germany-based companies in the travel, pharmaceutical, automotive and insurance industries. She began her career as a psychotherapist working with a clinic for addictive behaviour.
Ulrike has a degree in educational science from J. W. Goethe University, Frankfurt, an MBA in European economics from University of Saarland, and several degrees and certifications in executive coaching, psychological counselling and organizational development. She speaks German, English and some French.
