Steven Blackman specializes in executive assessment, succession planning, change management and executive coaching. As a highly accomplished assessment expert, he evaluates the readiness and suitability of existing and potential talent for C-suite-level positions. In his time at Spencer Stuart, he has conducted over 1,000 assessments. Additionally, as part of client engagements, he works collaboratively with senior executives to create action plans designed to accelerate their professional development and maximize their long-term potential.
Leadership experience in the field
- Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Steven spent a significant portion of his career at Mercer Delta Consulting, where he was a partner working with multinational Fortune 500 companies across industries. He advised clients in successfully leading large-scale transitions such as reorganizations, strategy implementation and team effectiveness. Also while there, he capitalized on his leadership assessment skills to design the firm’s executive coaching process for CEOs and senior executives.
- Previously, Steven held senior-level positions in organization development consulting within corporate human resources at Price Waterhouse-Coopers and Hughes Aircraft Company.
- Steven gained entrepreneurial experience while living in Argentina, where he co-founded a media company in Buenos Aires.
Steven works with clients across North America, most notably in Canada, over the past decade. In addition, he also has extensive experience working with clients around the globe, including South America, Europe, Australia and the Middle East. His native language is English, but he is also fluent in Spanish. Steven holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from California State University, and a Master of Arts and Ph.D. in organizational psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology.
