Ruth leads Spencer Stuart's Dublin office and the Financial Officer Practice across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She is a member of the firm’s CEO, CFO, Boards, Consumer, Financial Services and Private Equity practices and has more than 20 years executive search and leadership advisory experience. She is a trusted advisor, focusing on board, CEO and senior executive succession, working with private and public companies to support their strategic objectives.
Board and C-suite search partner
- In July 2019, Spencer Stuart acquired MERC Partners; Ruth continues to lead the Irish business post acquisition; having joined MERC Partners in 1999 and becoming managing partner in 2014.
- Ruth was responsible for creating the Board Practice within the Irish office and specialises in chair and director appointments.
- Ruth is a member of the National Council for Ibec, the Irish business lobbying group and former member of the Association of Executive Search (AESC) Diversity and Inclusion Committee. She has also served on the strategic committee for the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform.
- Ruth was global chair of IIC Partners from 2015 to 2018, a board member of the National Maternity Hospital Foundation up until 2020 and served on the Governing Authority of National University of Ireland, Galway for 5 years.
A qualified accountant (FCCA), Ruth holds a masters degree in business and was the 2016 recipient of the National University of Ireland Galway Business and Commerce Alumni of the Year Award.
