Mike Dickstein leads Spencer Stuart’s Chief Sales Officer Practice and is a core member of the Private Equity and Board and CEO practices. He is also a member of the Technology, Media & Telecommunications Practice, leading the firm’s efforts across the global software sector. His commitment to leadership also includes additional firm roles, including leading Spencer Stuart’s Seattle office.

Motivated by helping clients solve their most complex leadership challenges, Mike is known as an experienced, insightful and collaborative partner. He advises CEOs, boards and investors on executive searches as well as succession and other leadership advisory needs. His engagements span a wide range of companies from startups to private equity sponsored companies, to multibillion-dollar global enterprises, helping them recruit CEOs, board directors, commercial leaders and other C-level leaders who will have a lasting impact on their organizations. His sector focus in technology includes software, cloud, data centers and cybersecurity.

He has helped place hundreds of executives and board members in leading companies around the world who transform their functions, help their business scale and steer turnarounds. He also advises organizations on C-suite succession planning, and leadership development and assessment.
  • Mike is deeply experienced in go-to-market leadership searches for B2B technology companies of all sizes, as well as CEO searches for private equity sponsored software/SaaS companies.
  • Prior to Spencer Stuart, Mike was a long-time executive in the software industry with leadership roles at Microsoft and earlier stage companies. He started his career at McKinsey & Company in the technology practice.

Mike received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and his bachelor’s degree from Stanford University.
