Mary Gorman is a consultant in Spencer Stuart’s Boston office and a member of the Education, Nonprofit & Government Practice. She focuses on leadership positions in liberal arts colleges, research universities, independent schools and nonprofit organizations.

Extensive nonprofit experience

  • Mary draws on her work with mission-driven organizations to partner effectively with multi-stakeholder search committees, helping them to align expectations and think creatively about leadership solutions. Mary has had the privilege of working with the boards and faculty of the nation’s preeminent organizations as they navigate leadership transitions.
  • Having spent more than 20 years at Dartmouth College and Phillips Exeter Academy, Mary has worked closely with the faculty, the board, and the administrative team on a wide range of academic and administrative issues. These experiences give her a deep appreciation for the culture of institutions as well as their opportunities and challenges.
  • Her client work has twice earned her the firm’s prestigious Lou Rieger Quality Award.

Mary holds a master’s degree from the School of Management at Yale University and a bachelor’s degree in French from Middlebury College.
