Kelly Stone is a consultant in Spencer Stuart’s Leadership Advisory Services. Kelly brings to her assignments an extensive background in search and assessment of senior leadership talent across industry sectors, with a particular emphasis on long-term succession planning and executive development.
Leadership assessment and development experience
- Based in Texas, Kelly is responsible for evaluating the readiness and suitability of executive talent for senior leadership roles across a broad range of industries and functional areas. Her client work encompasses a number of CEO succession planning efforts, including advising CEOs and boards on critical succession decisions, which involves maximizing individual executive growth potential and readiness, and providing guidance on matters of top team effectiveness and organizational culture.
- Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Kelly spent three years in the private equity practice of another international search firm executing searches for key firm and portfolio leadership positions and coordinating comprehensive relationship support for PE talent imperatives.
- Before moving into leadership advisory, Kelly’s early career spanned strategic communication roles within the energy sector. In particular, she worked closely with companies in difficulty to guide initiatives to drive cultural evolution and operational turnaround in support of positive, sustainable change and improved performance.
Kelly earned her master’s degree in organizational and social psychology from the London School of Economics and Political Science and her MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. She completed undergraduate studies in technical communication at Clarkson University.
