Claudia Kelly founded the Human Resources Practice for Spencer Stuart almost 20 years ago. She has led CHRO search assignments, succession planning projects, executive development and coaching processes, as well as bespoke culture assessment and team-building exercises. Today she is a partner and core member of the HR practice and brings more than 30 years of consulting experience to every client she serves.
Extensive search experience
Previously, Claudia was both the global and North American practice leader of the HR practice. She has deep expertise in recruiting chief human resource officers across all industries and geographies. The practice also has extensive experience successfully executing all roles that report into the chief human resources officer, including compensation and benefits, all dimensions of talent, as well as business unit and geographically focused business partners. In addition to HR, Claudia has experience running broad-scale global intelligence, leadership assessment and CEO succession projects.
In addition to her client work, Claudia has held many firm leadership roles, including chairman of the strategy committee, chief of staff to the CEO, management committee member, manager of the Stamford office and the leader of the Financial Services and Asset Management practices.
Prior to entering search, Claudia was a senior engagement manager with McKinsey & Company, specializing in strategy and marketing for financial services and consumer companies.
A graduate with honors from the University of Virginia, Claudia also holds an M.B.A. from Columbia University, where she was the Colgate-Palmolive Fellow. She has worked in the White House for President Gerald Ford and in the United States Senate on the staff of Senator Jacob K. Javits. Earlier in her career she was also an actress, dancer and director. Claudia has authored a number of articles on the HR field, which can be found on the Spencer Stuart website.
