Kim Burris, a consultant in Spencer Stuart’s Chicago office, has more than 15 years of experience identifying and developing high-performing senior executives for top companies, with particular expertise in executive assessment, organizational assessment and development, and executive coaching. In addition, Kim specializes in advising private equity investors and their portfolio companies on their talent and culture-related issues.
Organizational development expert
- Before joining Spencer Stuart, Kim was at a boutique leadership advisory firm focusing on the private equity sector. In this role, she oversaw the organizational review service line, the firm’s largest practice area, in addition to offering clients talent assessment, team effectiveness and executive coaching.
- Earlier, Kim was co-founder and managing partner of a startup professional services firm providing innovative employee coaching, change management, and culture-building programs rooted in the science of positive psychology, emotional intelligence and mindfulness.
- Kim began her career in investment banking at Baird, where she helped launch and scale the department’s financial sponsor practice. She was also heavily involved in firm operations, having led associate/analyst training, designed and implemented a new performance management system, and managed key change initiatives.
Kim earned her Bachelor of Arts in ethics, politics and economics from Yale University, and her master's degree and doctorate (ABD) in organizational psychology from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
