Caroline Bell is a member of the firm’s Board Practice. She specialises in board director recruitment and advisory services for clients in the UK and internationally. Caroline previously lead the firm’s Leadership Advisory Services in the UK for 5 years and advised clients on leadership and talent issues. As a psychologist with extensive talent assessment and development experience, Caroline brings deep expertise to executive assessments and development for clients in a range of industries. Specialising in the application of psychometrics to assessment, Caroline helps organisations gain deeper understanding of their executives’ strengths and areas for growth, evaluating individuals and teams across all industry sectors to ensure that clients have the right people in the right roles to achieve their goals. She helps companies gain greater insight into the skills, motivations and leadership potential of executives, providing guidance on how to best develop executive talent.

Psychologist with focus on assessment and development of individuals, teams and organisations

  • Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Caroline spent three years as a consultant psychologist in the leadership strategy services practice of another leading international search firm. During her tenure, she focused on organisations planning for CEO succession and CEO transitions, and led the development of new assessment methodologies.
  • Previously, Caroline worked in a variety of consultant psychologist roles with an emphasis on talent assessment. As a consultant with OPP, she assessed both individual executives and teams to help improve organisational effectiveness. She also served as vice president of talent selection and assessment with Bank of America.
  • Earlier in her career, Caroline worked as an occupational psychologist with a leading recruitment firm in the UK and as a learning and development consultant with an international healthcare group.

Caroline earned an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Glasgow and a master’s degree in occupational psychology from London Guildhall University. She is a chartered occupational psychologist and is an associate fellow of the British Psychological Society.
