Han van Halder joined Spencer Stuart in 2006 as a consultant in the firm's Industrial and Board Services practices. Before joining the firm, Han was a partner in the Amsterdam office of another international executive recruiting firm for nearly 10 years. He also served in this firm as area managing partner for the Benelux/Nordic Region.
Following his studies and his military service (officer in the Military Intelligence Service of the Royal Dutch Army), Han held commercial and senior management positions at Philips Electronics N.V. in the Netherlands, Austria, Mexico and Brazil from 1976 to 1988. He was division director at Hagemeyer NV between 1991 and 1995. Between 1988 and 1991, Han was a Spencer Stuart consultant and led the firm’s office in the Netherlands.
Han has studied business administration at the Nyenrode University. He received his B.A. and M.B.A. from the University of Puget Sound Washington in the United States and his master's degree in applied economics from the University of Louvain in Belgium.
Han serves on the supervisory boards of a number of smaller Dutch companies. He is fluent in English, German, Spanish and Portuguese and has good working knowledge of French and Russian.
