John Mumm is a member of Spencer Stuart's management team, heading the firm's Australian operations, and a member of the firm's global board of directors.
He joined Spencer Stuart in 1993 and managed the Australian practice for five years before becoming regional manager responsible for our Asia Pacific operations for three years. John then assumed leadership of our global Board Services Practice.
John has extensive knowledge of the Asia Pacific, Australian and New Zealand corporate scenes through his involvement as both a commercial executive and management consultant. Prior to becoming an executive search consultant in 1990, John was managing partner, Pacific Region, with Hay Management Consultants from 1985 to 1990, and managing director of Hay's New Zealand operations from 1982 to 1985. He was also a member of the Hay Group international management board. Hay is a leading worldwide human resources and remuneration consultancy.
Previously, John held commercial and marketing management positions with Tasman Pulp and Paper Company Ltd in New Zealand and Coca‑Cola Amatil Ltd in Australia. He also served on the Secretariat to the New Zealand Monetary and Economic Council.
John obtained a master of commerce (hons) degree from Canterbury University, Christchurch.
