Chris Butler leads Spencer Stuart’s Financial Officer Practice on the West Coast, concentrating primarily on finance and board assignments. With more than 15 years of experience in executive search consulting, he applies deep sector knowledge and understanding to each assignment.
In addition to working with Fortune 500 companies, Chris has significant experience with the portfolio companies of the firm’s private equity clients. During his career with Spencer Stuart, he has worked with such notable clients as Intel, VISA, Microsoft and eBay.
Prior to joining the firm, Chris was a partner in an executive search firm that specialized in financial services and chief financial officer assignments. He began his career in search in the San Francisco office of another leading international executive search firm. Earlier in his career, Chris worked in the San Francisco office of KPMG Peat Marwick.
Chris earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of San Francisco, and is a certified public accountant in the State of California.
