Helen Iino is a core member of Spencer Stuart’s Technology, Communications & Media, Industrial, Financial Officer, Information Officer and Human Resources practices. Her career of more than 20 years spans a broad spectrum of IT, sales and marketing, finance and human resources roles.
Prior to joining Spencer Stuart’s Tokyo office, Helen was head of the human resources function for Honeywell’s Asia Pacific process solutions unit. There, she was responsible for more than 2,300 employees dispersed across 12 countries. Helen began her human resources career in Japan, where she held the positions of HR director for Nortel and senior director of HR for Alcatel (now Alcatel-Lucent).
Prior to human resources, Helen spent six years in corporate finance overseeing the financial results closing process and the conversion of finance systems to Year 2000 readiness for Nortel. Before corporate finance, she held various positions in the sales and marketing functions of Northern Telecom (now Nortel), Telesat Mobile and Bell Canada. She initially started her career as a programmer/analyst for Molson Breweries of Canada (now Molson Coors Brewing Company).
Born in Montreal, Canada, Helen has worked in Toronto, Ottawa, Hong Kong, New York and Tokyo. She speaks conversational Japanese, Mandarin Chinese and French.
Helen holds a B.S. from the University of Toronto in data management and an M.B.A. from McMaster University in international business, which she completed in Japan.
