Tim Henn is a consultant in Spencer Stuart’s Atlanta office and is a member of the firm’s Technology, Communications & Media Practice. He concentrates on chief executive officer, general manager and other senior-level positions for technology clients. His areas of focus include wireless and wireline networking and devices, communications service providers, storage networking, semiconductors and optical components.
Tim has expertise to match executives to companies in various stages of their life cycles: early-stage venture-funded start-ups; high-growth, mid-stage companies funded by private equity firms; and the largest multinational corporations, which require executives with sophisticated matrix management skills.
Before joining Spencer Stuart, Tim was with a leading global retained executive search firm for more than seven years as a senior member of their technology practice. He conducted assignments for clients across North America, Europe and Asia.
Tim also has 14 years of prior technology industry experience in strategy development, marketing and business development. He worked for Motorola for six years, where he led strategy efforts for the company’s communications equipment businesses. In addition, Tim contributed to Motorola’s most significant acquisition, General Instrument, as well as the strategic assessment of Motorola’s broadband wireless investments.
Prior to working with Motorola, Tim worked in senior marketing and product management roles with Global Village Communication (modems and communications software), Ungermann-Bass (data networking equipment) as well as the semiconductor industry with VLSI Technology and Motorola Freescale.
Tim is a graduate of Cornell University with a degree in electrical engineering and also holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
