Lynn Cherney is a member of Spencer Stuart's Financial Services and Real Estate practices. She has 18 years of senior-level executive search experience and is an expert in the real estate sector, including private equity, investment banking, asset management and operating companies.
Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Lynn was a partner at a global executive search firm, where she served as a real estate practice leader in the financial services sector. She has conducted hundreds of senior-level executive searches globally for a variety of companies, ranging from large multinationals to highly entrepreneurial firms.
Lynn has successfully completed assignments for investment banks, private equity firms, life insurance companies, asset management firms, real estate owner/operators, REITs, real estate service providers, homebuilders and resort developers. Representative positions include chief executive officer, chief operating officer, chief financial officer, general counsel, chief investment officer, chief marketing officer and directors for company boards.
Lynn started her professional career in executive search focused on the real estate industry. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with concentrations in psychology and Spanish from the University of Illinois, Urbana, and is conversant in Spanish.
Lynn is on the leadership team of the Urban Land Institute, founded the Real Estate Investment Advisory Council’s central region and serves on the board of the Daniel Murphy Scholarship Foundation.
