Sharon Miles has a strong and diverse background in a range of senior executive business leadership and consulting roles in Australia, the United Kingdom and South Africa. She leads Spencer Stuart’s Financial Officer Practice in Australia and New Zealand and co-leads the Practice in Asia Pacific. She is also a member of the firm’s Financial Services, Business & Professional Services, Aviation Aerospace & Defense, and Education, Nonprofit & Government practices.
Prior to Spencer Stuart, Sharon was CEO of the Sustainable Energy Authority for the state of Victoria. Before that, she was chief operating officer of retail banking operations with ANZ Banking Group, and held a number of senior executive positions with Ansett Airlines. Earlier, Sharon spent 12 years at KPMG, working in South Africa, London and Australia. There she specialised in assurance and consulting across various industries, including services, aviation, transportation, banking and finance, industrial and media. In addition to her CEO, COO, CFO and HR experience, Sharon also has significant experience in change management, and mergers and acquisition integrations.
Sharon was born and educated in South Africa and earned an undergraduate degree in commerce and law at Rhodes University, and an honours degree in accounting and law from The University of South Africa. She qualified as a South African Chartered Accountant and is a member of the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
