David Cranwell has a strong and diverse background in business leadership roles in Australia, Asia, North America and Europe. He focuses primarily on Spencer Stuart's Life Sciences, Industrial, Consumer Goods & Services and Private Equity practices.
Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, David spent 11 years in a leading global health and logistics company in a number of roles, including director of development; CEO of Asia covering China, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia; CEO of the global logistics business; and, most recently, group general manager of pharmacy retailing and distribution. During his time in the health sector, David played an active role serving as president of the National Pharmaceutical Services Association and chairman of the Medicines Partnership of Australia. His business career also has included significant M&A activity.
Earlier, David was an associate director at CS First Boston, working in both the equity market and investment banking disciplines specialising in the transport practice.
David's career began in the shipping industry, commencing at sea as a deck cadet and concluding as a master in command and fleet superintendent with the Australian National Line.
David has a master of nautical science degree from RMIT University, Melbourne and an MBA from the Graduate School of Management at Melbourne University.
