Umberto Bussolati Dell'Orto joined Spencer Stuart's Milan office in October 2000. He is a member of the firm’s Technology, Communications & Media, Industrial and Private Equity practices.
From 1998 to 2000, Umberto was a senior partner of another international executive search firm, responsible for the high tech industry practices. In this position, he successfully completed assignments for executives across a broad range of functional areas. Before joining that firm in 1998, Umberto was a partner of another executive search firm and a member of the European advanced technology practice. Previously, he was director of corporate development in the Olivetti Group, responsible for strategy planning and M&A activities.
Umberto also was a board member in several venture capital funds participated in by Olivetti. Other career experiences include serving as managing director of an Olivetti company in the industrial automation market, and as a senior consultant of Booz Allen & Hamilton in charge of the business process reengineering practice in Italy. He worked as a research professor and then as professor in computer sciences and organisation management at the Polytechnic University of Milan.
Umberto obtained a degree in electronic engineering from the Polytechnic University of Milan. He speaks fluent English.
