Victor Burk is the global leader of Spencer Stuart's Energy Practice, which includes oil and gas, electric power and alternative energy. Since joining Spencer Stuart in August 2005, Victor has participated in search assignments for a variety of energy companies, including 'super major' oil companies, independent E&P companies and refiners, as well as companies that provide capital and services to the energy industry.
Victor has provided professional services to companies in the oil and gas industry for more than 30 years. Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Victor was managing partner of Deloitte & Touche's global oil and gas group from 2002 to 2005. He began his professional career in 1972 with Arthur Andersen and was admitted to the partnership in 1981. He served as managing partner of Arthur Andersen's global oil and gas group from 1989 until 2002. During his 24 years as a partner with both Deloitte and Andersen, Victor served as either engagement partner or advisory partner in a variety of client engagements, including financial statement audits, consulting and advisory projects, and restructuring and privatization assignments.
Victor is a current board member of EV Management, L.P., the Houston Producers' Forum, the Independent Petroleum Association of America (Southeast Texas Region), and Sam Houston Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the National Petroleum Council from 2000 until 2006.
Victor graduated with highest honors from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1972 with a B.B.A. degree in accounting.
