Hypatia Kingsley is a member of Spencer Stuart’s Hong Kong office, having served in the firm’s Financial Services Practice in the United States since 2003. She specializes in a broad range of financial services assignments. Her client base includes top-tier companies in corporate and investment banking, asset management, retail banking, credit cards, brokerage, mortgage and consumer lending.
Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Hypatia spent several years at another major international executive search firm, where she focused heavily on the financial services industry. At the firm, she held management responsibility for a major account and was one of the youngest consultants promoted to senior client partner. In addition to her work with financial services organizations, Hypatia also specializes in financial officer recruitment and has conducted CFO searches for Fortune 500, mid-cap and startup organizations.
Prior to her career in search, Hypatia held positions at several Seattle-based companies, including a venture capital firm with numerous projects in Asia, a Taiwanese appliance importer and a Taiwanese lumber exporter.
Hypatia holds a B.A. degree in East Asian studies from the University of Wisconsin and an M.A. in Chinese history from the University of Hawaii. She was a Graduate Fellow at the East-West Center in Honolulu and a Eu-Tong Sen Research Fellow in Hong Kong while receiving her M.A. She speaks Mandarin Chinese.
