Tom Robinson is the leader of Spencer Stuart's North American Medical Technology Practice and is an active member of the Board Services and Biotechnology practices. Building upon 20 years of industry experience in top healthcare companies, he leads senior level searches in these three areas for clients ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies.
Tom is a recipient of the firm’s Lou Rieger Award for outstanding client work, and has been the quality officer for the firm’s Boston office for the past few years.
Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Tom was president of the emerging markets business at Boston Scientific Corporation, responsible for all markets in Europe, Asia, Latin America and Canada. He also was president of Brunswick Biomedical, a cardiology startup, and general manager of a business unit of Cardinal Health. Tom started his healthcare career at American Hospital Supply Corporation, where he held various sales and marketing positions within the V. Mueller operating room division.
Tom is on the board of directors of Cynosure, a Nasdaq-listed public medical laser company where he serves as chairman of the compensation committee and is a member of the audit committee. He also is on the board of directors of Sanuwave, a privately held orthopedics company. Tom is a member of the advisory board for the Harvard Business School Health Industry Alumni Association.
Tom received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and his B.A. in mathematics and economics from Brown University. He played varsity baseball and basketball during his years at Brown.
