Will Schutte leads the firm’s global search activities for the media sector, overseeing the Broadcasting & Entertainment, Internet & E-Commerce and Publishing & Information Services practices. Will combines extensive executive search experience with more than 20 years of media industry experience. He has conducted senior-level assignments for well-branded media companies across the spectrum of traditional and new media, with a particular expertise in digital media and content, e-commerce and broadcasting. In addition, Will is a member of the firm’s Consumer Goods & Services and Education, Nonprofit & Public Policy practices.
Throughout his search career at Spencer Stuart, Will has conducted assignments for both large corporate clients and smaller, private equity-backed enterprises. His search expertise includes functional disciplines from CEO, CFO and other C-suite assignments to senior sales, marketing and product development roles. Will has twice won the firm’s Lou Rieger Quality Award in recognition of his consistently high level of quality work and client service.
Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Will served for a number of years in general management in the radio division of CBS. Earlier in his career, he was a partner in a private equity-backed broadcasting business. In addition to media sales leadership roles in New York and Los Angeles, Will worked in account management at J. Walter Thompson Advertising in New York.
Will, his wife, Suzanne, and children reside in San Francisco. He proudly serves as a member of the board of trustees of KIPP Bay Area, an organization of college prep middle schools serving at-risk youth. Will earned his B.A. degree in American Studies from the University of California at Berkeley in 1978.
