With more than 20 years of experience across multiple sectors, Petra Helfferich is a consultant in Spencer Stuart’s Copenhagen office and is a member of the firm’s Industrial Practice, focusing on energy transition and sustainability. She understands the critical role leadership plays in transforming organizations and works as a true partner with corporate and private equity clients. Petra is key member of the firm’s carbon task force, dedicated to helping clients pivot their commercial, strategic and people plans to meet their sustainability and decarbonization goals.

Experienced transformation leader with a passion for partnership and collaboration

  • Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Petra spent 20 years with the international management consulting firm Kearney, where she was a key member of the company’s global process industry, consumer goods & retail and operations practices and served on various leadership teams.
  • In addition to her work with major public companies, Petra also leans on her experiences from serving on family and private equity-owned company boards and non-profit organization leadership.
  • Petra is passionate about diversity. She has a track record of recruiting leaders from underrepresented groups and leads diversity initiatives such as the Danish Chapter of Women Corporate Directors (WCD). She is also an active member of the leading women’s business network, “Generation CEO.”
  • She is engaged in various not-for-profit initiatives, fosters collaboration among business, foundations and NGOs, and serves on the Danish Chapter to the Human Practice Foundation.

Petra earned dual undergraduate degrees from the University of Reutlingen (ESB) and Middlesex University Business School. She graduated with an M.B.A. from the Monterey Institute of International Management. She is native in German and fluent in Danish and English.
