Based in Chicago, Kathy Schnure is a consultant with Spencer Stuart’s Leadership Advisory Services team. Kathy helps clients navigate their most complex leadership and talent challenges by leveraging her expertise in executive assessment and development, as well as C-suite succession planning. She works with organizations across industries to evaluate and advance the capabilities of their key leaders, and to address other leadership challenges, including top team effectiveness, organizational culture and change initiatives.

Extensive advisory and research experience

  • Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Kathy worked for another multinational search and assessment firm, first in the financial officers practice and then in the executive assessment practice.
  • During her time in graduate school, Kathy partnered with two different leadership consulting organizations, working on engagements focused on assessment, competency modeling, high potential programs and team effectiveness. She also worked on the organizational development team at NCR Corp.
  • Kathy’s graduate research focused on toxic leadership and narcissism in the workplace, and her work on the subject has been featured on NPR and in Industrial Engineer magazine. She has presented her research at several professional conferences, including the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, the American Psychological Association and the Association for Psychological Science.

Kathy received her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in industrial and organizational psychology from Georgia Tech, and earned a B.A. cum laude in psychology and political science from Bucknell University. She serves on the board of the Chicago Metamorphosis Orchestra Project and is a member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
