Dr. Rony Touma leads Spencer Stuart's Middle East and North Africa business. Rony provides advisory and board services to multinational and regional companies. Rony specializes in the appointment of board directors, chief executive officers, chief financial officers and other senior-level executives in the healthcare, private equity and consumer industries. As a former executive in the healthcare and consumer industries, Rony brings firsthand insights to his searches and leadership assessments for senior executives and non-executive board directors. He also has deep expertise in retail, hospitality, real estate and financial services.
Global private equity, healthcare and consumer experience
- Rony brings extensive experience leading assignments for listed, private equity-held corporations and public organizations. He has held senior positions in general management, operations, strategy, sales and marketing within the pharmaceutical and consumer industries.
- Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Rony worked at Novartis, where he held several leadership roles spanning regional general manager, market access and policy, strategy and commercial development in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa.
- Rony has also worked in management consulting at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he served clients in the financial services, healthcare and consumer industries in addition to the public sector.
- His experience spans four continents at the affiliate, regional and headquarter levels in the U.S., U.K., Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Rony holds an M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management in Chicago, a doctorate degree in pharmacy from Saint Joseph University and executive education in finance from Harvard Business School. A native Arabic speaker, he is also fluent in both English and French.
