Jennifer Gerney leads Spencer Stuart’s Philadelphia Office, is a core member of Spencer Stuart's Legal, Compliance & Government Affairs Practice and is an attorney. She leads general counsel and other senior legal and compliance executive searches for clients from multiple industries, including biopharma, life sciences and healthcare, technology, industrial, financial services, and consumer goods and retail.

Jennifer is deeply experienced in legal and compliance executive searches, including general counsel/chief legal officer, chief compliance officer, deputy/divisional general counsel, corporate secretary and chief securities counsel assignments. Her clients span a wide range of industries and include global Fortune 50 to mid/small cap to growth stage and private equity-backed companies.

Jennifer has a strong concentration in the promotion of diversity in the legal profession and leads diversity initiatives and outreach for the Legal, Compliance and Government Affairs Practice. She has represented Spencer Stuart on various panels focused on the advancement of diverse talent and is part of several legal associations and networks focused on diversity and inclusion.

Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Jennifer practiced as a commercial real estate attorney with the highly regarded California law firm Allen Matkins. She was licensed to practice law in California, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Jennifer earned her J.D. from the University of Southern California (USC) Law School and her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in cognitive neuroscience from Temple University, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa as a part of the school’s honors program. She lives just outside of Philadelphia with her husband and two children.
