Anastasia Crosswhite, a consultant in Spencer Stuart’s Academia & Research Practice, deeply understands the issues and opportunities facing higher education and the leaders of these institutions. Formerly a member of New York University senior leadership team, Anastasia has extensive experience both managing college and university operations and working closely with search committees for key roles.

Higher education leader and strategist

  • Before joining Spencer Stuart, Anastasia was associate dean for planning and chief of staff to the dean at Stern School of Business, New York University, where she gained invaluable insight into workings of complex higher education institutions as well as the search committee process for identifying and selecting university leaders.
  • During her tenure at NYU, Anastasia worked on the creation of NYU Abu Dhabi. She also worked with numerous partner universities, including the National University of Singapore, Bocconi University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
  • Earlier, Anastasia served as associate vice president of faculty housing and residential services. In this role, she was responsible for over 2,000 units of NYU-owned affiliate and non-affiliate housing as well as a multi-million dollar mortgage loan portfolio.

Anastasia earned her bachelor’s degree in history from Princeton University and her master’s degree in history at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She attended law school at New York University School of Law, and earned her MBA with a specialization in finance from New York University Stern School of Business. Upon graduating from law school, Anastasia clerked for a Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals judge. She is a member of the New York State Bar.
