2007 Houston Board Index
In this year's edition of the Spencer Stuart Houston Board Index, we examine the data and trends in board composition, board practices and director compensation for 94 publicly traded Houston-based companies that were featured in the Houston Chronicle’s annual "List of Top 100 Companies." The index also provides a comparison in trends from 2006 and 2007 boards as well as an interesting snapshot of the impact of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act on Houston-area boards.
Highlights of this year's index include an increasing number of independent directors, the trend toward installing mandatory retirement requirements and a slight decrease in female representation.
