The route to the top for today’s enterprise leader

Senior leadership roles are far more complex and challenging than they have been in the past, often requiring skills that may not have been necessary in the previous times and increasing the pressure on leaders to perform. To learn more about how the role of the general manager or enterprise leader has evolved, Spencer Stuart’s Technology, Communications & Media Practice surveyed nearly 130 presidents, general managers, chief operating officers, executive vice presidents and senior vice presidents about their backgrounds and issues they face. In addition to the survey, a number of enterprise leaders provided their perspectives on the challenges of the role and the skills these leaders need to succeed in the role.
