The defense sector continues to see growth as a result of the war on terrorism, though the evolving nature of warfare — away from the conventional build-up of military size and toward smart technology — will dramatically change the procurement mix.

The aviation and aerospace sectors are also facing a shift of economic power, away from traditionally dominant markets such as North America and Europe to faster growing emerging markets such as the Middle East, India, Southeast Asia and China.
