Katherine (Kitty) Zheng, based in Beijing, is a member of the firm's Industrial and Technology, Communications & Media practices. She brings more than 15 years of global executive search experience to her role, having lived and worked in Europe, Asia, the United States and Canada.
Kitty began her career in search with a London-based retained search firm in 1994. She launched its Beijing office in 1995, quickly establishing the firm as one of the top executive search firms in China. The practice centered on senior-level assignments for multinational companies in the industrial, consumer, technology and pharmaceutical industries. Kitty then lived and worked with another retained boutique search firm in San Francisco from 1997 to 2002. In that role, she conducted CEO, managing director and vice president assignments in the United States, Europe, Japan and Asia Pacific across the technology, chemical and natural resource sectors.
Immediately prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Kitty spent seven years as a principal consultant in the industrial practice of another top-tier global firm. She was the first consultant hired in the firm’s Beijing office, where she recruited senior executives for global and local clients in China and Asia Pacific in the industrial, manufacturing, chemical and automotive sectors. Kitty also established and led the firm's HR practice in China. She subsequently was active with the firm in North America, serving clients in the industrial, natural resources and technology sectors.
Kitty holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Beijing’s Capital Normal University and a master’s degree in human resource management from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. She is fluent in Mandarin, English and German.
