Dr. Holger Karsten is a member of the Industrial Practice and heads the Automotive Practice in the firm’s Frankfurt office. He brings to Spencer Stuart many years of management and strategy consulting experience in the automotive, manufacturing, transport and logistics industries.
Holger began his career with AUDI AG, gaining direct industrial experience as assistant to the board member of production. After five years with AUDI, Holger became office manager of a local branch of a boutique executive search firm which he helped to build. Two years later, Holger joined Arthur D. Little, gaining 15 years of consulting experience. During his tenure, he built up the firm’s automotive practice and was responsible for human resources management strategy in Europe. In 2000, Holger joined the investment banking division of Merrill Lynch in Frankfurt as managing director, where he supported customers in the automotive and transport industries. Prior to joining Spencer Stuart, Holger spent four years at Accenture, where he was responsible for the automotive supply industry.
Holger studied economics at the University of Freiburg and obtained a doctorate degree in business administration on the topic of “Innovative Work Design Through Job Enrichment.” Holger also completed one year post-graduate study at Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Holger is fluent in his native language, German, and English.
