With extensive experience in both investment banking and executive search, Sandy McLane is a core consultant in the Corporate & Investment Banking and Private Equity practices. Most recently, Sandy was with another leading search firm in its global banking and markets practice, where he led senior-level search assignments for bulge bracket, middle market and boutique investment banking clients. Previously, Sandy was a managing director and head of financial services executive search at a well regarded corporate board-focused boutique firm.
Prior to commencing his career in the executive search field, Sandy worked for 15 years as an investment banker, most recently at JP Morgan where he had client coverage responsibilities for media and telecommunications companies. Previously, Sandy was a founding member of the high yield corporate finance group at First Union Capital Markets. He began his career at Citicorp Securities, where he held a variety of positions in New York and Chicago. During his tenure in the financial services industry, Sandy completed numerous public and private, equity and debt financings as well as a range of M&A assignments in the media and telecom, retail and apparel and general industrial sectors. He also worked extensively with private equity firms, including Carlyle, Providence Equity, Spectrum Equity and Welsh Carson.
Sandy holds a B.A. from Bowdoin College and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
